Rodney Hunter: Rick Zagrodnichek

Date Taken: Nov. 24th
Nate Benitez Hunter: Nate Benitez
Points: 10Pt
Location: St Mary’s River State Park
Weapon: Fred Bear Truth
Date Taken: November 9th
Additional Info: This bruiser was taken while bow hunting public land located in St Mary’s County Maryland. On the morning of Nov 9th 2007, I set up his portable tree stand over a large scrape located in a staging area he had scouted during the early season. I had an encounter with this buck two years earlier in the same area but was never presented with a shot. The good lord was smiling down on him this time as the buck passed right under my stand at 5 yards after a rattling sequence. At 8:30 AM I made a perfect double lung shot with his brand new bow and buck went down 50 yards from his stand. . I never expected to see this buck again let alone get a shot at such mature whitetail in such a high pressure area. It took two years of hard hunting but this buck is proof positive that mature bucks can be taken on high pressure public lands with a lot of scouting and a little bit of luck!
This buck is a 5X5 with a 24 inch inside spread; it has not been officially scored due to the 60 day P&Y drying period requirement
Ralph Welch Hunter: Ralph Welch

Location: PG County
Weapon: Matthews Switchback XT

Additional Info: Wasn't having the greatest year so far. But at 2:30 pm, this guy came up on me
making scrapes and busting up the woods. Made a 23 yards shot, not the best
shot, packed up at 4:00 pm and came back the next morning and found him 200
yards from where I shot him. It was a long night, Some of you can understand
the feeling. But, was very happy to find him the next morning. This was my
first nice buck with a bow.

Additional Info: Was fortunate to connect the dots on my best Buck with a Bow. I saw him on a Sunday evening scout and then went to my honey hole nearby on Wednesday evening. Watched him make a scrape, chase a few does, and then walk under my stand while I was at full draw – he passed underneath me and then I made the shot at 14 yds. He ran about 40 yds and I watched him go down. Awesome!
Mali Hunter: Mali
Points: 10Pt
Location: eastern shore
Weapon: BOW
Date Taken: November 1st
Additional Info: Got in around 6:30am this morning. I hunted that farm 2 nights ago and did pass on a decent buck. Othewise, the farm has sat all season. 7:15am I cut out a few grunts and immediately a cow horn buck came in and made a scrape. Watched him for about 2 minutes as he walked down the logging road and off to my left. Heard some walking where he came from and out of the same hole came this guy. He followed the same path and at 14 yards he took it in the arm pit....He could not get out of the way from the Guardian!!! Did not run 35 yards.....had enough time to hang the bow, pic up the bino's and watch him wonder where his legs were.

Super morning............November 1 is always a good date!!
